![]() Maybe there's a powder out there that would fill the case at least 60% full and provide 1050fps in heavy bullets but I've never found it.ĮTA - just looked at the link above for VV N32C and that sounds about perfect for the 308. ![]() characteristics of single- and two - phase flows in a subsonic model gun. I found large variations in the velocities and when going with such small quantities of powders in the case it just didnt work well for me. development under simple variable - amplitude loading, Fatigue Fracture. I tried some other powders several years ago and went back to Trail Boss. 308 loads they'd care to share I've got 180 grain pills, but think 220 RN might be a better option Mr. I worked up a subsonic load that is pretty accurate using Sierra 175s and Trail Boss. 308 subsonic load data 4,866 Views 12 Replies Last: 1 yr ago by LoudestWHOOP dolch 5:49a, 12/30/21 AG Anybody have a reloading recipe for subsonic. LR-308 - Cycle with Subsonic Ammo Postby Zero T» Wed 11:29 pm I have a DPMS LR-308 that I put together myself. Ive been loading 55 grain amax, SP or those cheap midway dogtown bullets over. 308 220 gr loads and youre getting keyholes at 100 yds then it aint working either speed it up or drop the bullet weight. they use a 7.62X51Nato, and some spec ops units use the 7.62X33. I need to try some 220's and see what happens, but the sound of that powder crunching when pushing the heavy's in the case makes me cringe. The military doesnt use a 7.69 rifle or round. I already have super sonic loads that will cycle reliably but I havnt worked up a subsonic load data. Seems like Trail Boss gets close to max case capacity in the 308 to get it pushing the bullet to optimum subsonic speeds (for heavy bullets anyway) I think I settled in around 10.5gr for 180 grain bullets which is ok in my gun and produced good accuracy and fairly consistent velocities. I dont have any experience with IMR 4895 in subsonic loading though. Sounds like a worthwhile endeavor for sure.
